Former Navy clearance diver, member of the Australian Army’s elite Tactical Assault Group and private security contractor, Hugh O’Brien, will be a special guest speaker at Hurstville City Library on Wednesday, 15 October 2014.

Hugh’s new book, ‘Undaunted’, is a personal account of how he overcame adversity to reach the pinnacle of his career working with the Army’s counterterrorism unit, TAG (East).

Mayor of Hurstville, Cr Con Hindi said this book delves into the secretive world of a Special Forces unit.

“Hugh recounts an incredible journey in his personal memoir and is an action-packed read that captures an alternative route through life,” he said.

“I’m sure this author talk will have wide appeal in the community, in particular with those who have an interest Armed Forces specialist operations.

“The governing factor of success in Special Forces is refusal to give up, repudiation of defeat – no matter how bad the situation is.”

In 2007, Hugh left the Special Forces and has since pursued a career in private security. He is currently stationed in Iraq and continues to seek adventure wherever it may lie.

Hugh will sign copies of his book at the author talk. The book will also be available for purchase at the event.
