Author talk: Lex Marinos to visit Hurstville City Library

Posted 25 June 2014 by (Hurstville News)

First-time author and talented performer, Lex Marinos will be a special guest speaker at Hurstville City Library on Tuesday, 15 July 2014.

Lex’s new book, Blood and Circuses – An Irresponsible Memoir, explores the renaissance in Australian film, television, radio and theatre during the Whitlam years.

Mayor of Hurstville, Cr Jack Jacovou is encouraging the community to come along to this author talk that will shine a new perspective on the Australian performing arts industry.

“This book is very much a celebration of artists, broadcasters and many wonderful, under-appreciated actors who have helped to shape the entertainment business,” he said.

“Blood and Circuses is a powerful, humerous mix of intelligent musings, self-deprecation and familial love.”

Lex is best known for his outstanding performances as Bruno Bertolucci in Kingswood Country and, more recently as Manolis in the ABC’s production of The Slap, as well as dozens of films and stage productions.

Lex will sign copies of his book at the author talk. The book will also be available for purchase at the event.
