Author talk: Malcom Knox at Hurstville City Library

Posted 16 July 2015 by (Hurstville News)

Award-winning author and journalist Malcolm Knox will be the next special guest author to visit Hurstville City Library to discuss his fifth novel, The Wonder Lover, on Monday, 27 July 2015.

Mayor of Hurstville, Cr Con Hindi said The Wonder Lover is an exciting novel about a man called John Wonder who is a bland, unremarkable man with a secret; he has three families in three different countries who don’t know about each other.

“The novel is outstandingly written; the voices are fresh, the story quirky and the characters unusual,” he said.

“It is evident that Knox has gone to great lengths to challenge himself with the narrative, as the story is told through the eyes of his six children.

“Malcolm Knox is one of Sydney’s finest literary exports. As well as being a highly acclaimed novelist, Knox is an internationally renowned journalist. He is the former literary editor and an award winning cricket writer of the Sydney Morning Herald.

“In 2004, he won one of his two Walkley Awards for his investigative journalism in breaking the Norma Khouri story. His novel, A Private Man, was shortlisted for the Commonwealth prize and the Tasmanian Premier’s Award.”

Knox will be signing copies of his novel at the author talk. The book will also be available for purchase at this event.
