China: One people, Many stories exhibition on now

Mayor Sansom said China: One people, Many stories is a unique exhibition exploring the rich diversity of cultural groups and practices in mainland China.

“This exhibition gives a wonderful insight into Chinese history and tradition along with celebrating the cultural diversity present in the St George region,” he said

“It explores the geographical and cultural distinctions within China’s population and highlight examples of diversity through displays of artworks and cultural items.”

Mayor Sansom said the exhibition is a focal part of Hurstville City Council’s 2011 Hurstville Chinese New Year Festival, which runs until Saturday, 26 February 2011.

“The month of festivities also includes a spectacular concert, Chinese film festival, an inaugural outdoor dining experience, children’s activities and much more,” he said.

“I invite everyone in the community along to experience the unique character of Hurstville’s Chinese New Year Festival at China: One people, Many stories.”

The free exhibition is open to the public until Saturday, 26 February 2011.
