Posted 24 September 2013 by (Hurstville News)

Mayor of Hurstville, Cr Jack Jacovou is calling on budding young artists to design Hurstville City Council’s 2013 official community Christmas card.

Mayor Jacovou said Council’s Christmas Card Competition - now in its 11th year - is open to all primary school children residing or attending schools in the Hurstville local government area.

“We receive so many great entries each year, I’m looking forward to seeing what the students have to offer in 2013,” he said.

“The winning artwork will feature on our official community Christmas card.”

Mayor Jacovou said the 2013 competition theme is ‘Christmas in Summer’.

“Students are encouraged to reflect on and illustrate what is unique about celebrating Christmas in Summer,” he said.

“The winner and runner up will each receive a $50 voucher, with an additional $100 voucher to be presented to the winner’s school.”

All entries will be displayed at Hurstville City Library in the lead-up to Christmas.
