Mayor of Hurstville, Cr Badalati is encouraging everyone in the community to help do their bit on Clean Up Australia Day on Sunday, 6 March 2016.

Mayor Badalati said organisers are gearing up for another successful event this year.

“Clean up Australia Day is a great way that local residents can make a difference as every set of hands helps to reduce pollution and conserve our parks, waterways and recreational open spaces.

“Over the years, local residents have been outstanding supporters of this event and through their ongoing commitment, they are helping to make our recreational facilities rubbish free and more appealing for everyone.”

Mayor Badalati is urging residents to attend one of the registered sites and roll up their sleeves to help beautify the local environment.

“Simply visit the Clean Up Australia Day website and choose from a list of registered sites to show your support and get involved with your family or friends, or nominate your own site,” he said.

Registered sites include; Beverly Hills Park, Woodville Park (Hurstville), Oatley Park, Banksia Place (Lugarno), and Murdoch Crescent (Lugarno).

Remember to wear enclosed shoes and bring water, gardening gloves, sun protection and insect repellent.
