Georges River Council celebrates local volunteers

Posted 27 September 2016 by (Hurstville News)

Nominations are now open for Georges River Council’s 2016 Volunteer of the Year Awards.

The awards recognise the valuable contributions volunteers make to businesses, groups and organisations across the local area.

Volunteers are an integral and valued part of the community, and Georges River Council will celebrate the efforts and achievements of these volunteers at a special ceremony on Monday 28 November 2016.

Organisations are invited to nominate a volunteer who has made a significant contribution to the organisation, and has gone above and beyond in their role.

To nominate a volunteer, organisations need to outline how long they have been involved and what qualities they bring in their role.

They also need to outline the significant contribution the volunteer has made on the organisation and the community in the past 12 months and what achievements they have received.

These awards are a fantastic way to show the appreciation the community and organisations have for those who dedicate their time.

Georges River Council encourages all organisations in the local area to nominate a volunteer that makes valuable and significant contributions to their organisation and the community.
