Posted 24 June 2015 by (Hurstville News)

Mayor of Hurstville, Cr Con Hindi today announced that Hurstville City Council is progressing well with its development of the Concept Master Plan for Hurstville Civic Precinct.

“Council is now underway with a master plan for this key strategic space within Hurstville City,” he said.

“I am pleased that the Concept Master Plan For Hurstville Civic Precinct is entering the community consultation phase as it is a once-in- a -lifetime opportunity for the entire community to have their say.

“It is also an opportune time for the community to share their vision and ideas of what they would like to see included in a future Civic Precinct as part of the long-term strategy for this space.

“The proposed master plan site covers 13,000m2 and is bounded by MacMahon Street, Park Road, Queens Road and Dora Street.

“Personally, I am extremely proud that this master plan is becoming a reality as it has great potential to transform the area into a vibrant, culturally significant and inviting destination where people can live, work and interact.

“I envisage the Civic Precinct to be a showpiece in the St George region and include facilities for community and cultural uses as well as open spaces.

“I’d like to encourage residents and business owners to have their say during the community consultation period to ensure the master plan reflects the needs and wants of our community.”
