The St George Career Compass will provide people aged between 15-24 years with career pathways, education options, trade and vocation opportunities.

Deputy Mayor of Hurstville, Cr Con Hindi said the expo will highlight the vast array of career opportunities available today.

"Choosing a career is one of the most important decisions a young person will make at this stage of their life,” he said.

"This careers expo will provide vital information that will guide them on the path that best suits them.”

Activities available on the day include:

  • Try a Trade’
  • Recruitment agencies, employers and educational institutions
  • Industry Information Sessions
  • Guest speakers

Participants are also encouraged to bring along their resume so they can apply for jobs on the spot.

The free event will be held at Hurstville Entertainment Centre, 16 MacMahon Street, Hurstville on Wednesday, 15 September 2010 from 9.00am to 3.00pm.

It is supported by MTC Work Solutions, Max Employment, Hurstville City Council, NSW Education and Training – State Training Services, STE 1300 apprentice, St George Careers Development Centre and National Disability Coordination Officer Program.
