Hurstville Chinese New Year school holiday fun

Mayor of Hurstville, Cr Steve McMahon is inviting local children to have fun and learn something new during Hurstville City Council’s 2012 Chinese New Year school holiday activities, from 9 January to 24 January, 2012.

Mayor McMahon said Hurstville Chinese New Year offers children an exciting opportunity to learn about Chinese tradition and culture.

“Council is celebrating the cultural diversity of Hurstville City by providing artistic and educational activities for our residents and visitors to enjoy,” he said.

“Hurstville City Library, Museum & Gallery will host an extensive program of children’s holiday activities, including Chinese-themed story time, art and craft and Chinese cooking workshops
.
“I encourage young residents to come along and help celebrate 2012 Hurstville Chinese New Year in the Year of the Dragon.”
