Hurstville City Council Mayoral Ball: Hawaiian Luau

Posted 24 March 2014 by (Hurstville News)

A tropical Hawaiian Luau is the theme of the 2014 Hurstville City Council Mayoral Ball at Hurstville Entertainment Centre on Saturday, 3 May 2014.

Mayor of Hurstville, Cr Jack Jacovou said the event is shaping up to be a great night out for everyone in the community.
“Featuring a sumptuous three course dinner, raffles and a charity auction, the night will also include Hawaiian fire twirlers, music, amusements and much more,” he said.

“The event will also offer a chance for local businesses and the community to join together, have some fun, and support a worthy cause.”

Mayor Jacovou said that although the 2014 Hurstville City Council Mayoral Ball will be a lot of fun, it also had a serious side of raising vital funds for Cancer Care Centre at St George Hospital.

“The Cancer Care Centre has recently tripled the size of its chemotherapy unit to cater for an increasing number of cancer patients,” he said.

“At present, the facility records more than 50,000 visits per year and it is one of the few cancer treatment facilities in Australia that provides a variety of treatment options under the one roof.

“There is still more to do and further funding is necessary so this community facility can continue to expand for the benefit of the greater St George region.”

Mayor Jacovou said in addition, there will be raffles and an auction with all proceeds supporting the Centre.

“So dig deep, have some fun and help this worthy cause,” he said.

Tickets are now on sale and cost $130 per person or $1000 for a table of 10.
