Hurstville City Council’s Second Year Apprentice Greenkeeper, Wilson Li, was recently granted the Citi Markets Scholarship for high achieving apprentices.
Mayor of Hurstville, Cr Vince Badalati praised Wilson for his positive ‘can do’ work ethic and commitment to providing excellent service to Council and for excelling in his studies at Ryde TAFE.
“Wilson is a very worthy recipient and I congratulate him on this outstanding professional achievement,” he said.

“I believe we have some of the best people working for Hurstville City Council.

"I am proud of the ingenuity of our employees and what they achieve in their day-to-day roles.”

Mayor Badalati said the scholarship will provide Wilson with the opportunity to spend a week in Melbourne with flights, accommodation and meals paid for.

“Wilson will be given the opportunity to do a work placement with WPC Host employers which includes a tour of the MCG. He will get to work on some of Melbourne’s most iconic grounds and gain an insight into other sports turf facilities.” he said.

“Council is pleased to offer apprenticeship and traineeship opportunities to young people and to assist them in their professional career development.”
