Hurstville City Council officers awarded for their work

The event, which is part of the NSW Department of Education and Training annual awards program, highlights the outstanding talents of apprentices and trainees in the Southern Sydney region.

MIS (Management Information Systems) trainee, Adrian Sciacca was awarded regional Trainee of the Year: Certificate III in Information Technology, whilst Childcare Assistant, Justine Carpenter was a finalist in the regional Trainee of the Year: Certificate III in Children’s Services category.

Mayor Sansom praised the two Council’s officers for their ongoing commitment and dedication to their profession.

"I applaud both Adrian and Justine on this outstanding achievement,” he said.

"I believe we have some of the best people working for Hurstville City Council.

"I am proud of the ingenuity of our employees and what they achieve in their day-to-day roles.”

Adrian, along with other category winners, will now continue on to the State level where they will be competing against winners from other regions.

The overall winners for the NSW Training Awards will be announced at the Awards Presentation Dinner in Darling Harbour on 16 September 2010.
