Hurstville Museum and Gallery launches All things great and small Exhibition

All members of the Georges River area are invited to attend the opening of the Hurstville Museum andamp; Galleryandrsquo;s new exhibition All things great and small. The exhibition, which will officially open on Friday 21 July 2017, features a variety of items from the Museum and Galleryandrsquo;s collection and showcases how different items can tell different stories depending on the context they are in. Hurstville Museum andamp; Gallery has close to 5,000 items in its collection, which have been collected from the 1970andrsquo;s when the Hurstville Historical Society started gathering objects to keep the history of the St George region alive. Visitors of the exhibition will be able to learn the historical facts of each item on display, reflect on personal memories and immerse themselves in imaginative stories created by the Hurstville Discovery Writers Group on the items on display. Some of the items that will be on display include bicycle lamps, a meat mincer, typewriter and a manicure set. The official opening will take place at the Hurstville Museum andamp; Gallery at 6.30pm on Friday 21 July. The opening will feature a talk by the curator of the Museum andamp; Gallery to explain the concept of the exhibition. The exhibition will run until 15 October 2017.
