Kip McGrath Educational Scholarships Competition winners announced

Mayor of Hurstville, Cr Jack Jacovou today announced the five winners of the 2013 Hurstville Lunar New Year Festival Kip McGrath Educational Scholarships Competition.

The winners were:
• Jasper Qi – age five
• Aidan Lam – age five
• Chloe Hung – age five
• Lola W Imawan – age 17
• Mohamed Issa – age 17

Mayor Jacovou said the competition was open to children and young people aged 4-18 years who attended one of the programs or activities held at Hurstville City Library during the 2013 Hurstville Lunar New Year Festival.

“Council was delighted to have Kip McGrath Education Centres, St George offer the generous prize of five individual scholarships each valued at over $2000.00,” he said.

“I am sure these scholarships will further help our local children and young people to succeed academically.

“The competition had over 100 entries which was a most positive result.”
