Mayor of Hurstville, Cr Jack Jacovou is inviting the community to come along to a new exhibition that includes model aeroplanes, submarines and memorabilia to be held at Hurstville City Museum & Gallery.

Mayor Jacovou said the exhibition will showcase works from retired local artist, Ian Boyden, who has created a series of artworks from bits and pieces in his garage collected over a lifetime.

“Creative Craft by Ian Boyden presents artworks that have been made from basic household items which add a new creative dimension to their form,” he said.

“The exhibition features a variety of works that will demonstrate to visitors that it is possible to make interesting designs and models from everyday items.

“The artworks offer something very special and reflect Ian’s love of aeroplanes and the Royal Australian Air Force.

“Additionally, Ian has a real affinity for air force planes and has completed an apprenticeship as an airframe fitter at the Royal Australian Air Force College.

“I invite everyone in the community to come along and explore this unique exhibition.”

The official opening of Creative Craft by Ian Boyden will be held at Hurstville City Museum & Gallery, MacMahon Street, Hurstville, on Saturday, 3 August 2013 at 2.00pm. All welcome.

The exhibition will run until 25 August 2013.
