Mayor of Hurstville, Cr Con Hindi today expressed his delight after Santa Claus made a surprise visit to Hurstville City.

“I am pleased that Santa took time out from his very hectic schedule to visit our great city,” he said.

“Santa assured me he is busily preparing everything for his Christmas Eve flight and is looking forward to making all his deliveries around Australia and the rest of the world.”

Mayor Hindi said Christmas is a time to celebrate and be thankful for all the wonderful things in your life.

“I personally cherish this time of year, and I encourage you all to enjoy the holiday season with your loved ones.

“The festive season presents a great opportunity where we can all take time out and spend some quality time with family and friends.

“It is also timely to think of others who may be doing it tough and to help out those in need in any way possible – big or small.”

Mayor Hindi said Council is hosting an array of free school holiday activities for everyone over the holiday season.

“If you are staying in and around Hurstville City, why not come along to Council’s Australia Day Festival at Oatley Park, or join in one of the many activities on offer through Hurstville City Library and Museum,” he said.

“On behalf of Council, I wish the community a wonderful Christmas and a prosperous and happy New Year.”

Council will resume normal business hours from 5 January 2015. In case of an emergency, Council can still be contacted on 9330 6222 – 24 hours a day, seven days a week.
